Kate Bright (British, b. 1964) teaches at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College, London.  She studied at Camberwell School of Art and Goldsmith’s College, both in London.  She has shown frequently in England, had solo exhibits in Turin and Salamanca and was included in the British Council survey, Tailsliding that traveled to venues in Italy, Spain and Norway.  She has been represented by Locks Gallery since 2004 and her exhibition of new paintings opens there on November 2.

Barry Schwabsky is art critic for The Nation and co-editor of international reviews for Artforum. Barry Schwabsky curated the exhibit, Post Flat, New Art from London in 2003 that included Bright and while based in London wrote several pieces on the artist.
