Moore’s Teachers Summer Institute 2011 is designed to enhance the culture of teaching and to empower learning in and through visual art. A professionally directed program of studio-based workshops offers educators the opportunity to recharge batteries, deepen personal direction, hone skills, expand concept development, and discover new applications for educational practice. (See below for graduate credit and noncredit options.)

2D & 3D Studios: In studios facilitated by professional art faculty, participants focus on personal direction, experimentation, and individual point of view. Morning studio options include drawing, painting, and 3D mixed media, including clay.
Contemporary Art & Lunch: Guest speakers address important topics in contemporary art and how to relate them to interests of young people. Presentations are followed by luncheon and discussion.
Museum & Gallery Visits: An open day gives participants the opportunity to tour the nearby Philadelphia Museum of Art and visit Philadelphia’s other outstanding cultural institutions.
Optional Evening Sessions: The following choices are available Monday-Thursday evening: Extended Studio Time, Life Drawing Workshop, and Printmaking Workshop.
Graduate Credit: TSI 2012: New Perspectives in Art Education (EVTI601) is offered for three graduate-level credits. Participants enrolling for graduate credit submit a Unit Plan based on TSI content 6 weeks following the residency. There is no additional cost for graduate credit.
Noncredit Option: Participants may choose to be enrolled on an audit basis rather than for graduate credit. The cost is the same but there is no Unit Plan requirement.
