June 6, 2008 - August 9, 2008
Bright, colorful drawings of clowns, tigers and tightrope walkers will delight children of all ages in this exhibition titled Circus Time featuring works by Moore alumna Pamela Deitrich '70. The artist created these oversized paintings on paper during live performances at Big Apple Circus, capturing the excitement and energy of the experience through the use of dynamic line and vibrant color. The exhibition features nine works and accompanying captions that are the basis of a forthcoming children's book by the artist. About the artist: Pamela Deitrich received her MA in Museum Professions with an emphasis on costume and textile studies from Seton Hall University and a BFA in Illustration from Moore College of Art & Design. She has worked as both an illustrator and art educator, as well as a curator of costume. Her work has been recognized in juried exhibitions for their exploration of thematic subjects, and has been featured in a national juried show titled, "The Child in You," at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago.
