Spring Study Abroad

March 3, 2007 - March 11, 2007

Professor Frank Hyder led a group of students to Mexico for Moore's "Sketch Book Drawing in Mexico City" study abroad program.  From March 3-11,  the students used Mexico City as a classroom, learning to draw from nature and architecture exclusively in the sketchbook format.  While abroad, they were introduced to outstanding examples of sketchbook drawing through slide lectures and were challenged to describe and understand the perceived world in a small and portable format. With daily individual critiques and dialogue, students were encouraged to explore and experiment and, upon return, their work was exhibited in Moore College of Art and Design’s student run gallery.

Moore's study abroad courses are open to the whole Moore community and also to students attending other academic institutions. Contact Elaine Erne, Academic Affairs Coordinator, Wilson Hall at Eerne@moore.edu with questions.
