PORTFOLIO PREPARATION – REQUIRED
Drawing: Improve your observational drawing skills through the production of still life, interior and life drawings, using a variety of materials. You will refine your use of value, form, texture and line, while learning how to create balanced compositions.
Note: Classes have male and female nude models.

Two-Dimensional Basic Design:  Learn to succesfully use the formal elements of visual language, including point, line, plane, shape and texture. Using an array of materials, investigate design principles such as balance, repetition, pattern, proportion, scale and figure/ground relationships.


STUDIO CONCENTRATIONS – CHOOSE ONE:

FINE ARTS - 
You will experiment with creating 2D and 3D fine art using a variety of materials, techniques and tools.  You will also have the opportunity to develop a body of focused work. 

FASHION DESIGN -
(Students selecting this studio concentration must have some machine and hand-sewing experience.)
You will learn past and current trends in fashion history.  Concept development, fashion illustration, pattern making and garment construction will all be covered.

ANIMATION -
You will learn the basics of creating and illustrating your own characters and placing them in a designed environment.  You will explore traditional 2D animation techniques, and create a short digital animation using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Imageready.
