Regina Medina writes about artist and activist Amalia Mesa-Bains in The Philadelphia Daily News. Mesa-Bains is one of Moore's Visionary Woman Award Honorees. Mesa-Bains, along with Elizabeth A. Sackler, founder of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum, will be presented with the Visionary Woman Award Tuesday, September 25 at a gala fundraiser at the College.

The Visionary Woman Award honors women who have made a lasting contribution to the visual arts. Proceeds from the event fund a competitive merit-based scholarship. The Visionary Woman Scholars receive full tuition and are nominated by their high-school art teacher.

Moore College of Art & Design initiated the Visionary Woman Award in 2003. Since then awardees have included Judy Chicago, Mary Ellen Mark, Denise Scott Brown, Faith Ringgold and Moore alumna and fashion icon Adrienne Vittadini '66.

6ABC: Sept 6, 2007
Don Polec visits The Galleries at Moore to meet LA artists Josh Levin as he installs his work Trophy Room. The room includes beasts of a different nature. Levine imagines a Trophy Room of the future of bizarre animal hybrids, mutations of genetic engineering and science fiction.
