The Locks Career Center for Women in the Arts assists students as they
identify and secure internships that align their skills and ambitions with
their personal and professional goals. The Center’s sizable network of
professional alumnae and employers helps place our students in challenging
and exciting internships, many of which lead to careers after graduation.
Students at Moore participate in a required internship during the summer
between junior and senior year. Consisting of a 240-hour commitment,
internships allow students the chance to gain real world experience in
their major field. It’s also an important opportunity to develop a
professional network in preparation for a career in art and design.
Internships may be paid or unpaid and require prior approval of the
department chair and faculty supervisor. A signed contract must be on file
with Locks Career Center prior to the beginning of the internship period.
Art Education majors must complete a 12-week supervised student teaching
assignment that will be arranged through the Art Education Department.
